About Us

Great Western Glycol was founded in 2003 and has grown to become one of the largest glycol recovery operations in the western United States. The GWG facility includes over 450,000 gallons of tank capacity, a vacuum distillation system, and blending equipment. A set of high-capacity certified scales ensures that bulk loads are accurately handled and transporters are assured of staying within their DOT specified weight limits. Located on a Union Pacific rail spur, Great Western Glycol is the logical destination point for used antifreeze, HVAC fluids and wing deicers from large collectors and generators across the western U.S.

Processing millions of pounds of ethylene and propylene glycol waste annually, GWG provides an environmentally friendly solution to glycol waste generators and environmental service companies that must manage the regulatory compliant disposal of this material. Through its vacuum distillation process and blending equipment, GWG refines its glycol waste streams into a line of sustainable antifreeze blends for the transportation maintenance market as well as industrial heat transfer fluids marketed for freeze protection applications across the commercial facility and industrial user spectrum.

GWG provides ethylene glycol based antifreeze and propylene glycol based heat transfer fluids to regional distributors for applications in several market segments including:

  • Auto and truck repair
  • Heavy-duty fleets
  • Light-duty fleets
  • Mixed fleet operations
  • Commercial HVAC
  • Oilfield equipment
  • Hydrotesting
